Owala’s Beach Themed Birthday Bash is Coming Soon!

Overview

Owala’s 6th Birthday Bash is right around the corner, despite being pushed back nearly a month, this collection has promised to be worth the wait. Owala recently introduced the latest Birthday Bash collection based on one theme: the beach.

Owala will be having a Birthday Beach Bash in Atlanta at The Works on April 11th from 10am-6pm. Stay tuned to Owala’s Instagram and official communications to learn more as we get closer.

This collection will feature 7 completely new patterns, which is a little less than we’ve seen in previous years. Something new this year though, is that while in the past all Birthday Bash releases have been Special Edition, this year features 3 designs that will become “Core” designs, meaning they will be restocked throughout the year.

The Core designs include:

• Just Ripe - 24oz FreeSip
• Coastal Bohemian - 30oz FreeSip Sway
• Vintage Surf - 30oz FreeSip Sway

While the Special Edition designs include:

• Coral Cabana - 40oz FreeSip Tumbler
• Rolling In - 24oz FreeSip
• Go Halvsies - 32oz FreeSip
• Vacation Mode - 40oz FreeSip Sway

Many people have many opinions on this. Some would prefer Birthday Bash designs to stay Special Edition as there are plenty other months in the year when they can release Core designs, while others have experienced the sadness from years past from not being able to get the bottle that they really wanted.

If one of the Special Editions designs catch your eye, be sure to grab it while you get the chance. Owala has not yet announced if the Special Edition bottles will have backorders for the bottles that sell out within the first hour.

Make sure you have downloaded The Cupboard app and have notifications turned out so that you don’t miss this exciting drop!

A few days after the drop of the collection, there will be a site-wide 20% discount on products (excluding the newly Birthday Bash designs), so if there is a bottle on the site that you’ve been eyeing, April 17th might be the day you might consider pulling the trigger.

Design

Owala has actually written a blog explaining their ideas behind their designs. Each bottle had a few ground rules:

1. Every bottle had to stand on its own and look good together
2. Be beachy, but not cheesy
3. Each design needed a clear “person” in mind

Here are the explanations of the designs from Owala themselves:

• Rolling In: It has ocean waves you can almost hear if you lean in close.

  • “We wanted the lid to feel like a continuation of the sand,” one designer said. “Like the whole bottle is the ocean.”

  

• Coral Cabana: It’s tonal, fun, and quietly beachy.

  • “It was all about harmony — stripe thickness, coral size, color balance,” the designer explained. “Even the smallest change completely shifts the vibe.”

  

• Just Ripe: With fresh, tropical fruit that’ll have your mouth watering.

  • “We weren’t doing average fruit,” one designer said. “You’ve gotta throw in a papaya.”

  

• Coastal Bohemian: Intricate, layered, and full of hidden details.

  • “The goal was for things to feel hidden,” the designer shared. “Nothing should stand out too much — it should all feel balanced and cohesive.”

  

• Vintage Surf: An ode to nostalgic surf culture with a more masculine edge.

  • “Men’s bottles can get boring,” the designer admitted. “We wanted this to still have personality.”

  

• Vacation Mode: It’s social, sporty, and its bright colors are a ray of sunshine.

  • “[We] built [this] around being outside and being social.”

  

• Go Halvsies: Bold, graphic, and built for sharing the spotlight.

  • While no direct quote was given, their goal was to “create something that’s genuinely fun to look at for both adults and kids.”
